i use masterpassword with my pc+opensuse 13.1+kde 4.14.4
i use kde wallet in kde environment .

when i open a kde a session kde wallet asks for me a password and that's all till i close the kde session.
kwallet stays opened till i close the kde session.

in a day via text console and ssh i access numerous times to a server to make tests.
each time i must launch masterpassword , wait a long time it's gui then type the master password then past the password

during this day i also access to numerous sites with firefox because i open bug reports.
each time i launch FF i must click on the masterpassword icon then supply the master password if i need to access a site.

perhaps you need to copy features of kwallet:
- one process in the foreground
- each app has access to this process with user authorization (temporary or always)
- this process stays opened while at least one app needing it is opened
- optionally when the last app needing it is closed then the process is closed

an example of apps accessing to kwallet in my pc environment :
- my pim suite : 2 mail accounts, google acount for synchronizing mail and calendar
- digikam for accessing to google drive , picasaweb
- kmail for accessing to google drive
- FF , Chromium , Chrome for accessing to sites
- Dolphin the file manager accessing via sftp to a server
and
- me accessing via ssh to a server

please add an option to choose the ability to open masterpassword one time :
- for a session
- for all the ways masterpassword is used

thanks
