Saving site name, login, password type, incremental in desktop/java version
As discussed before:
Master Password is a great concept! I think, this is a great way to improve personal security in the internet: individual "cryptic" passwords for every site, saved nowhere. With this concept it become allmost impossible to steal your identitiy.
However, this solution will only receive great acceptance, if usability is very simple, easy and fast.
I have four suggestions for improvement:
1. The most critical point is cross platform. Hence, all plattform implementations should save all the data I do not want to memorize on the respective device:
(1) site name
(2) login name for that site,
(3) type of password (long, short, PIN, ..) for that site,
(4) last incremental for that site
I do not know whether the Java desktop version does that yet since the newest version does not run on my Windows PC. In previous versions it was not possible. Hence, it was not possible to copy and paste the password from the app to a website or an application on the desktop. To me, this lack makes Master Password not yet a solution.
