The app you linked is a third-party app, I cannot make any statements about it.

The JAR file you downloaded will run if you double-click it, but you need to install Java first, since it looks like Microsoft doesn't ship Java with their OS anymore out of the box.

You can get Java from here:
https://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Maarten Billemonttag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/457973682018-07-30T04:11:03Z2018-07-30T04:11:04ZGetting a Windows version.

Wow a lighting fast response!
I down loaded Java and after the computer rebooted there was an icon on the desk top. Score I thought. I opened the file and it is so small I can hardly read it.
On the left side there are 2 choices:
1, Add new user to Master Password.
This opens a dialog box:
When I enter my name I used on my phone nothing happens.
2, Import a user..... I did not save a file so I do not think that this is it.
I am lost.
I had no idea what that was. I did a little reading. It looks like the modern version of the DOS prompt.
I am not a programmer but I have used it before to ping up addresses and such.
If I have good directions I can follow them.
My computer knowledge is limited.

I hate to be a PIA...
I went to that link and I clicked on it. It opened up and it does the same as before...
I have this small screen and when I enter my name nothing happens.
Once this works I am glad to throw you some money.

If you're up for it, give this a try:
1. Open
cmd.exe

2. If your JAR file is still in Downloads, type:
cd Downloads

3. Then type
java -jar masterpassword-gui-2..7.4.jar

Reproduce the problem, then copy-paste me everything you see in the black screen.

Maarten Billemonttag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/457973682018-08-06T15:22:40Z2018-08-06T15:22:41ZGetting a Windows version.

MB,
I was not sure when I was supposed to hit enter or where to leave spaces so I tried it in different combinations:
Microsoft Windows Version 10.0.17134.191 2018 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:\Users\Doug>cd Downloads java -jar masterpassword-gui-2..7.4.jar
The system cannot find the path specified.
C:\Users\Doug>cd Dowloads
The system cannot find the path specified.
C:\Users\Doug>cd Downloadsjava -jar masterpassword-gui-2..7.4.jar
The system cannot find the path specified.
C:\Users\Doug>
I saw a typing mistake so I went bar in again.

Care to try again? When you type
java -jar
, add in the name of the JAR file as you see it in your Downloads folder.
masterpassword-gui-2.7.4.jar
, exactly as-is. It should start the Master Password app for you. Then just try to create a user. Maximize the black console screen and send me another picture?

Maarten Billemonttag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/457973682018-08-06T23:40:51Z2018-08-06T23:40:52ZGetting a Windows version.


