So, is it just a password generator? Sorry, I'm having a
little struggle understanding this site/product.

D Denneytag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/431006662017-07-29T17:11:29Z2017-07-29T17:11:29ZQuestions...

It is essentially a password generator, but a deterministic one, which means it'll always generate the same password for the same site. That means you don't need to save your generated passwords anywhere. You can just forget all about them until you need them again in the future and re-generate them.

Maarten Billemonttag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/431006662017-07-29T17:17:44Z2017-07-29T17:17:44ZQuestions...

That's awesome. Thanks.

D Denneytag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/431006662017-07-29T21:20:11Z2017-07-29T21:20:11ZQuestions...

Sorry, but I have one more question. What does the selectable number mean?
The one that starts out with "1", but you can change it to whatever. What
is that number about? Thanks.

D Denneytag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/431006662017-07-29T21:57:43Z2017-07-29T21:57:43ZQuestions...

I assume that's the password counter I was referring to earlier. What app are you using?

Maarten Billemonttag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/431006662017-07-29T22:03:18Z2017-07-29T22:03:19ZQuestions...

I'm just using the "Web (Beta)" version. I might switch to Terminal if I
can figure it out, since I'm using Linux.

D Denneytag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/431006662017-08-09T01:51:18Z2017-08-09T01:51:19ZQuestions...

Hello again. I have a couple more questions. It's somewhat a good idea to
change important passwords once in a while, so how would I do that and get
a different password for the same domain?

Also, when I choose a "Long" password, it always generates only one number
and one symbol, no matter what the domain/site name is. Is there a way to
get more numbers and symbols?

Thanks.

D Denneytag:help.masterpassword.app,2014-09-03:Comment/431006662017-08-09T03:59:20Z2017-08-09T03:59:20ZQuestions...

Changing the site's password is done by incrementing the site counter. It starts at 1.

You can't change the layout of the Long type, but you can switch it to a different type, eg. Max.
