Terminal app : problem with the command ./install

I start by entering the command `sudo./install` or `./install` and then the output asks me a question: what bin directory should i installed to? [/usr/local/bin]
Then I press the enter key to validate this directory and the program exits with an error message: install: ommission of the directory 'mpw'...
do you know why?
