How do I use master password for my phone and computer
I have downloaded the master password app on my phone and my computer but I have trouble logging into my phone now because the passwords that they generate are different. How do I log into a different device or computer if I don't know what my password is?

Hi Lily,
The passwords should be identical on the computer and the phone. If they are different, it means you've used different names. Make sure that your name is identical on the phone and the computer. It's important that everything is exactly the same, including the capitalization of the letters in your name and the site's names.

It looks like the passwords are the same but for some reason I still have trouble logging into my phone.

I tried with a different website and the passwords that it generated are not the same even though the spelling and capitalization is exactly the same.

It's not sufficient to check the website name only; you also need to ensure you're using the same user name and master password when logging in.
If you are convinced that you are indeed using the same tokens for everything on both devices, try logging in with a new user named "test", using master password "test" and tell me what your devices are showing you as the password for the website named "test".

I am a noob to this program and a very low end computer user.
I just loaded this program on my I phone. I used the web version on my lap top & my passwords matched. Somehow I closed the program and I opened it again using a different browser and the password did not match my phone. I used the other browser & it matched.
I am not sure if that helps.

As mentioned in this post, if a password doesn't match, that is caused by you using different values for your name, your master password or your site's name.
Think of it as a calculator. 7 + 3 + 9 is always, always, 19. If you don't get 19 at the end, it's because you made a mistake when you typed either the 7, the 3 or the 9.
Note that your name, master password and site name must be 100% identical. Any difference in spacing, use of capitalization or diacritics will skew the results.
